Foreign nationals intending to operate a drone in Nepal are required to obtain a Temporary Drone Registration from the Flight Safety Standards Department (FSSD), Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN). Applicants must visit the FSSD office in person and present the drone for inspection.

Applicants must submit the following documents:
A valid passport with a valid Nepal entry visa.
A signed Letter of Commitment stating compliance with the existing UAV regulations and requirements issued by the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) and the Ministry of Home Affairs (MOHA) Drone Operation Procedure, 2019. The letter must also include:
Purpose of drone operation
Proposed flight location(s)
Duration of operation
Any additional documents related to the intended drone operation, if applicable.
The drone must bear a valid CE Marking indicating compliance with applicable safety, health, and environmental protection standards.
